Laurel is a director, writer, and producer whose work spans comedy, drama, and heartfelt storytelling. Her short film All You Want To Know screened at the Portland Film Festival, Massachusetts Independent Film Festival, She Makes Movies Festival in New York City, and Austin Indie Fest—where she won Best Director and the film was nominated for Best Short Film. The script for All You Want To Know was a finalist for the Atlanta Film Festival and BlueCat Screenplay Competitions.
As a producer, Laurel has created content for Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, BET, and ViceTV. She is the Executive Producer and co-founder of Let That Marinate Productions and one half of the comedy sketch duo Shabs & Laurel Forever. Her comedy work has been featured on Funny or Die and WhoHaha.
Laurel wrote, directed, and starred in the web series Letters to Quarantine and Impodsters, and has produced numerous short films, including Mr. Oberbeck (2022 Lower East Side Film Festival) and The Woods (2018 Brooklyn Horror Festival). She is currently developing multiple feature films that she plans to bring to life in the next few years.
A graduate of the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts, Laurel holds a B.A. in Film and Television Production. She serves on the board of Women in Film and Video New England and is a member of the Writers Guild of America (WGA).
Laurel is also a certified yoga teacher and sound healer having completed her 200 hr Yoga Teacher Training in the Himalayas at the Nepal Yoga Academy. She found that through yoga and physical movement she was able to connect more deeply with her creative mind. Now she loves to create spaces through her yoga classes and workshops where others can feel safe and open to tap in more deeply to their emotional and creative selves.
